Tutoring
The Center for Academic Achievement offers one-on-one and small group tutoring for all Carlow University students at no cost. The CAA maintains a staff of specialists and a number of peer tutors to assist students with their coursework and skill development.
Staff specialists cover the areas of math, science, writing, reading, and study skills. Since many of the specialists teach classes and have other duties, you should make appointments at least one day in advance. Please review the Tutoring Guidelines and Expectations page before your first appointment.

Study groups are often highly effective options for motivated students who want to review and stay on top of their coursework. Both traditional and adult students who have taken part in study groups have said that they "like working together, talking, and helping each other." Each semester, a number of CAA professional staff members and peer tutors facilitate study groups, mostly in math and science.
For a listing of current study groups, please call 412-578-6146, email caa@carlow.edu, or stop by the CAA main desk in Grace 427. If you wish to form your own study group for a course and would like to find a peer facilitator experienced in the appropriate discipline, please contact the CAA and we will do our best to help you identify a study-group leader. |
