The Center for Academic Achievement (CAA) is a resource for all Carlow students who want to become stronger and more independent learners or want to improve their academic skills and strategies. Through individual tutoring, study groups, and on-demand workshops, the CAA can help students become more confident and successful in their coursework.
The CAA's professional staff and peer tutors can work with students to:
- Identify learning style
- Review and clarify course material
- Develop new study and learning strategies
- Prepare for tests
- Build memory and critical thinking skills
- Develop time management and goal-setting skills
- Address study-related anxieties
- Work on writing techniques and grammar
- Review research paper formats
- Increase critical reading comprehension
- Work on note-taking
- Support for Praxis
